BROOKFIELD – Daniel John Waffenschmidt, age 70, was called home to Heaven on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Wauwatosa, WI. 

Dan will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl (nee Grages), his children Daniel “DJ” II, David, & Amanda (Ben) Murphy.  Proud Papa of Cole, Brooklyn & Declan Murphy.  He was a special son-in-law to Grace Grages-Friedrich, and brother-in-law to Elisabeth Waffenschmidt, Kathi, Mark (Sandi) and Mike Grages.  He is also survived by many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.  Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elizabeth and brother Henry.  Sincere thanks to the staff at Accent Care Hospice for their excellent care. 



A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls on Monday, April 27, 2026, with visitation starting at 5:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church or family are appreciated.
